Collection: Simple Economic Triangles

The inspiration for my collection is based on current news, movies, and trends. This collection, Simple Economy Triangles, is based on our economy and the pyramids of Mexico. My inspiration was the United States dollar bill and the triangle with an eye located on the back. My second inspiration was the pyramids of Mexico in the city of Teotihuacan. This historic city was a pre-Columbian Meso-American city located in the Basin of Mexico, 30 miles northeast of the modern-day Mexico City, which is today known as the site of many of the most architecturally significant sites for Meso-american pyramids built in pre-Columbian Americas.

Apart from the pyramids, Teotihuacan is also anthropologically significant for its complex, multi-family residential compounds, the Avenue of the Dead, and the small portions of its vibrant murals that have been exceptionally well preserved. The city is though to have been established around 100 BC and continued to be built until 250 AD., almost 350 years. The USA economy during the years of 2008 and 2009 were in a terrible economic state, so I decided to design garments with a simple triangle to represent the triangles of our currency and the pyramids of my ancestors.

You will see the simple triangle on the garments. It is sometimes a simple as a cut-out or a difficult triangle made of jewels in the garment.
